Good Morning, Good Day

A wonderful and creative way to make your morning meal dosha specific, nutritionally dense and satisfying to your taste buds is by having a smoothie for breakfast (or as a mid morning pick me up). Now I’m not referring to the old frozen fruit with a scoop of protein powder kind of smoothie that used to be so popular. What I’m suggesting is a more modern take on the smoothie.

Let’s Talk Detox

It’s Spring…that time of year when we begin to notice the need for some tidying up, for some good old fashioned spring cleaning. More than likely, it isn’t just our house and gardens that may be a bit disheveled, calling out for attention after the wear and tear of winter; our bodies require some TLC this time of year too. It may be time to consider some deep self-cleaning. Spring is the perfect time to clear out some of winter's excess in the body with a detox.

Eat Your (gourmet) Greens!

I’m a yoga teacher, Ayurvedic practitioner and local juice bar/vegan café owner. As you can imagine, I hear a lot about what people are eating or not eating and why. Paleo, vegan, raw, cooked, 80/10/10, low carb, high protein…you name it, someone’s doing it. What I don’t hear a lot about is how absolutely down right gourmet delicious plant foods can be. That’s right, having a healthy diet chocked full of plant foods is not about limitation or denial, it’s about enjoying the bounty Mother Earth has to offer in the most creative, sustainable, and celebratory way.
